I had Covid last September. My wonderful childhood friend, 66 years of ongoing friendship, passed it on to me, not knowing she had been exposed. She visited me for our annual birthday celebration, and was in my home for less than 24 hours. She had been in a bubble for a year, except for a once a month bridge game with 3 close friends. One of them had been exposed, but didn’t say anything. When she woke up, she told me she didn’t feel well, and drove home to her house in another city. She got fever that afternoon. Two days later she told me the news. I got tested immediately, and had it, too. I just had a few days of light fever, coughing, and several days of fatigue. She spent 3 weeks in the hospital, on a ventilator, and died.
